| Stalco has completed a new, two-story events and equipment storage building for the Broad Channel Athletic Club. The project presented several technical challenges as it is located in close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and tide channels. The team performed continuous de-watering during the excavation phase and installed 35 piles, each 65 feet deep, to support the new structure due to the low bearing capacity of soil at the site. |

| The building features a concrete slab first floor above grade beams resting on the piles. The structural system includes CMU blocks and cold-formed steel joists at the second floor and roof levels. The pitched roof is finished with shingles, while the exterior façade features the vinyl Perfections siding with the cedar plank appearance. The building is equipped with impact-resistance windows and two roll-up doors at the garage entrance on the north side. |

| The site work included a new buried electric power connection and drainage, construction of other utilities, and a new 300-s.f., 15-inch deep storm water retention pond. Stalco also erected a free-standing steel platform for the emergency generator. |

| The interiors house the first floor equipment garage and two event and activities room on the second floor. Two stairs, an internal and an external, connect the two levels. The finishes include VCT flooring on the second level, painted gypsum board ceilings, and gypsum board and CMU walls. |
