Cost: $2.7 million Serving as general contractor, Stalco completed the new administrative building for the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The project encompassed construction of spread footing foundations, Concrete Masonry Unit and steel structure, all interiors, and MEP systems. The facility houses a large lobby, offices, family meeting rooms, public restrooms, and records storage space. Many materials and design elements reflect the religious and cemetery functions of the facility. The Baltic Brown granite, present in both the cemetery’s chapel and mausoleums, is featured throughout the exterior and interiors of the building. A hip-pitched roof and a small copula also suggest the religious aspect of the building. Two porticos mark the entrances and serve as weather-protected congregation areas. The lobby’s design combines a double-height volume evoking a sense of grandeur with stain oak and green wall finishes that provide peaceful surroundings to relatives. The reception desk features a Baltic Brown granite counter. The lobby’s porcelain tile floor is inlaid with a granite edging and decorative patterns. Other interior finishes include high-end oak millwork; carpet tile and VCT flooring; wall coverings; acoustical ceilings; and pendant, recessed, and high-hat lighting fixtures. © 2011-2014 Stalco Construction, Inc.
