| Stalco served as general contractor for the new Hicksville Fire Department’s Independent Engine & Hose Company Two station. The project encompassed demolition of the pre-existing station, excavation, ground-up construction of a two-story building with a basement and elevator, and interior finishes. |

| The station’s first floor houses an apparatus room with two bays, entrance lobby, ready room, and gear storage room. A training room, office, and storage and mechanical rooms occupy the basement. The second floor features a lobby, multipurpose room, beverage and food service area, and kitchen. Finishes include concrete, porcelain paver, and carpet flooring; acoustical and wood panel ceilings; and drywall walls. |

| Stalco excavated the site to the depth of 12 feet. Due to obstructions in the ground, the team could not use standard sheet piling. Instead, Stalco utilized 30-foot long H-piles spaced six feet apart. The level of vibrations caused by a pile driver was monitored in the two-block radius to protect neighboring structures. The station features foundation walls with footings and a grade beam and slab foundation, structural steel frame, brick and masonry façade with EIFS finish in selected areas, metal wall panels on the second floor, and standing seem roof with metal gables. |
