Hennessy Size: 15,300 s.f. Cost: $654,000 Stalco served as general contractor for the interior fit-out of the new Monkey Sports store at the Airport Plaza Mall in Farmingdale, NY. The Swedish retail brand specializes in hockey, lacrosse, baseball, and other athletic gear. The interiors feature a 12,000-s.f. main sales floor and 3,000-s.f. back office, skate room for skate sharpening and service, break room, and storage area. The merchandise furnishings include eye-catching shelving units along the walls, backlit by LED lighting panels in the back. Among unusual features installed by Stalco is a 120-s.f. synthetic ice section for testing skates and a 75-s.f. synthetic turf area. The finishes include polished and sealed concrete flooring in the sales area, VCT flooring in the back office section, black-painted ceilings and MEP infrastructure, and reclaimed wood and gypsum panel walls.
