Springs School Expansion and Renovation

| Stalco served as general contractor for the expansion, renovation, and functional redevelopment of the Springs School, which serves over 700 students in grades from K to 8th. The expansion has doubled the size of the school complex. Stalco also renovated a 1,600-s.f. storage building. |

| The project added a new, 31,000-s.f. wing that houses a new, high school regulation-size gymnasium, a science classroom, a technology and computer education classroom, and administrative spaces. The addition’s structural system includes a slab-on-grade foundation with spread footings and grade beams, CMU bearing walls, and steel roof joists. The exterior’s façade matches the existing building and features stucco plaster and exposed decorative brick as well as high-efficiency windows. |

| Stalco also renovated and rearranged multiple spaces totaling 16,300 s.f. within the existing school building. The project team redeveloped the former gym space to house a smaller auxiliary gymnasium and several small group counseling rooms for occupational, physical, and speech therapies. Other renovated spaces included a band room, a music room, an art classroom, a main office, a faculty room, and academic enrichment program room. |

| Interior finishes and systems included VCT flooring, LED lighting, and soundproof walls in the counseling rooms, the band room, and music classroom. The new, 36-ft. high gym features a folding partition that can be used to divide the space, 250-seat bleachers, two digital scoreboards, hardwood maple flooring, and expansive clerestory windows. |
